100 Best Technopreneurs Competition, 20th July - 10th September 2012



Introduction
The “100 Best Technopreneurs Competition” is organized by Malaysian Scientific Association (MSA) and WENCOM Career Consultancy (WENCOM) in conjunction with the 4th Technopreneurship & Innovation Symposium & Exhibition (TISE).

Objectives of Competition
The main objectives of the competition are:
  • To explore, identify and develop young Malaysian technopreneurs to set impetus to new economic development using Science & Technology;
  • To retain and attract talents for the industrial and technological development of Malaysia; and
  • To channel Malaysian young intellectuals and professionals into the main stream of national and international development.
Awards for Winners
The winners of the 100 Best Technopreneurs Competition will be able to attend the two (2) day 4th Technopreneurship & Innovation Symposium (TISE) 2012 free of charge. TISE 2012 is scheduled to be held on 21st (Sunday) & 22nd (Monday) Oct 2012 at Technology Park Malaysia (TPM), Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

In addition, the winners will receive a 3-month career guidance which covers assistance in obtaining traineeship/internship at European companies based in Malaysia. Winners will also be guided on application for various facilities and finance for aspiring technopreneurs including technopreneur incubator at Technology Park Malaysia (TPM).

Eligibility for Competition
The Competition is open to all Malaysian tertiary education students and young intellectuals. It is divided into Student Category and Young intellectual/professionals Category:

Malaysian tertiary education students studying locally or overseas including at universities, colleges, polytechnics and other post secondary institutions. (excluding postgraduate and Form 6, A-Level and Matriculation students)

Young Intellectuals and Professionals including postgraduate students aged 21- 35 years old as at 1 Jan 2012.

The selection criteria of the Competition are:

Panel of Judges
Panel of judges comprises representatives from Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Technology Park Malaysia (TPM), EU-Malaysian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (EUMCCI), Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MGCC), Malaysian Scientific Association (MSA), Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Training Centre and Malaysian Institute of Chemistry (IKM).
